King's Bruton is a wonderful school where children from a wide range of backgrounds with a multitude of talents are encouraged to be all they can be.
Academic performance is central to a first-class education. However, we pride ourselves on catering for all abilities, conscious that the development of every individual is paramount to our continued success. We will encourage your child to work hard, play hard, and achieve his or her goals.
I was delighted with our 2010 'A' level results, testament to the hard work of both staff and pupils. Nearly three quarters of our Upper Sixth achieved A*-B grades, with one in five awarded straight As. These were, by some distance, the best 'A' level results the School has achieved.
There is a balance at King's Bruton between education, extra-curricular activity, and pastoral care; these are all incredibly important to the progression of every individual pupil at our School. It is vital that all of our pupils, aged 13 to 18, feel part of the 'King's Family.' Underpinning all of this is our Christian ethos.
Our pupils are encouraged to respect themselves and others, to adopt a can-do attitude, and to be the best they can be. It is my firm belief that in doing so, they will emerge from King's Bruton as balanced, well-rounded adults, with a passion for life that will last them the rest of their lives.

King's Top in Somerset for "Value Added"
King's School Bruton achieved the best value added results at A-Level in the whole of Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, and third best in the south west, according to figures published by the Department For Education.

The figures, which indicate the improvement made by A-Level students in the two years since taking their GCSEs, also put King's in the top 5% valued added schools in the country.
King's, placed 37th nationally, achieved their best results for many years last summer with all U6th students obtaining 100% passes, 47% achieving A* to A and 74% achieving grades A* to B.
King's Bruton is proud to have been certified as one of the Top UK Independent Schools in 2010 in the league tables published on www.best-schools.co.uk
