H2 tags : Centrum's Artist in Residence program was created in 1980 to provide selected writers with the time and space to create new work. Writers like Bill Ransom, Sam Hamill, and John Haines were the program's first participants, and today the majority of residents are writers and poets.
In 1982 funds were donated to establish a fine art print center, complete with studio space and working presses. In 1984 Galen Garwood became the first recipient of Centrum's Northwest Print Project Residency Award. Tim Berry of Teaberry Press worked with artists over those first few years, and the Centrum Print Collection had its beginning.
Today the collection is comprised of over 500 unique images donated to Centrum by Visual Artists in Residence, a list of names that reads likes a who's who of the northwest art scene.
PT VAM is grateful for the partnership that allows us to exhibit a selection of the prints from the collection.
