Julia brought with her a small selection of axes for us to try, including a Small Hunter's Axe, a new Broad Axe, a Carpenter's Axe and an interesting forest axe with a long handle with a light efficient head. The Woodsmith's Store is very excited to have just received its first delivery of Wetterlings Axes. All that remains now to do is to pack up Julia's shavehorse and ship it off to Storvik!; Don't forget if you are interested in broader ranging woodcraft training then consider the NCFE Green Woodcraft course, based at Houghall College, Durham. This comprehensive 27 training day course, due to start early January 2012, is led by nationally recognised craftsman. Mainly hands-on, this course gives you an solid introduction to a range of greenwood crafts from coppice products to basket making and pole lathe turning. The course runs two days per week, every Thursday and Friday for about 4 months.
