HP Mini 5102 Touch Screen Netbook now in Malaysia
May 27, 2010
We’ve seen the desktop-sized lappies of yesterday rapidly evolved into the super sleek netbooks of today. Malaysians. While iPad struggles to get on board & bound for our local market, check out the latest HP’s little weapon.
It is specifically designed for business and education purposes. Spill-resistance keyboard. Nicely brushed aluminium case. 1024 x 600-resolution, 10.1 inch screen is matte and not the usual glossy-like type on most notebooks and netbooks. Although this screen is already championed its class, the colors appear to be washed out on the screen. The reason? Its touch screen property.
As with most of the lappies today, the Mini 5102 runs on 1.6GHz Atom N450 processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive and no Windows Starter 7 of course. Having Windows XP Professional as its platform, the book also comes with unscratchable aluminum and magnesium chassis, 3 USB ports, a VGA output, headphone & microphone connectors and an SD card slot on both sides.
Can you imagine watching a video nonstop for eight hours? No need to imagine it with this machine. Surf the net, writing in word and chatting with friends continuously for nine hours. Surely it still doesn’t exactly match up to the ASUS Eee PC 1005PE. But with only the few minutes advantage, who cares?
